Who should skip guards
A one-story bungalow with no big tree over it and a gutter you can reach from a stepladder does not need guards. Two cleanings a year on that house cost less over a decade than the mesh does. Guards earn their price on the houses where cleaning is expensive or scary: the two-and-a-half story double over the shared driveway, the colonial under a sixty-foot sycamore, the landlord with four doubles who would rather pay once.
